410 ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION

• Monitor the airway.
• Administer oxygen.
• Monitor breathing for adequacy.
• Request Advanced Life Support assistance.
• Assist the patient with self-administration of the patient's own previously prescribed Epinephrine (Adrenaline), if the patient has an anaphylaxis kit.
• Loosen restrictive clothing or jewelry.
• Assess for shock and treat, if appropriate. (See Protocol #415.)

  NOTE:

  ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE REACTION.

• Transport.
