REPLANTATION CENTER CRITERIA

CRITERIA
  1. Victims should be otherwise stable.

  2. Victims with isolated, total or partial amputation of arm, forearm, hand, wrist, finger, thumb, leg, ankle, foot, toe, scalp, ear, or nose.

    or

    Injury resulting from trauma presenting with a part or extremity that is cyanotic, pulseless, pale, or cool to touch.

PRE-HOSPITAL TREATMENT
  1. Rinse part to remove gross contaminants.

  2. Wrap part in sterile, saline moistened gauze.

  3. Place wrapped part in dry plastic bag and seal it. (If possible, put bag in second bag and seal it).

  4. Label bag with name of victim and time of injury.

  5. Place plastic bag in container of ice (no dry ice).

  6. Monitor victim's condition and transport victim and parts as soon as possible.
