304 CHEST PAIN

• Monitor the airway.
• Administer oxygen.
• Do NOT permit physical activity.
• Request Advanced Life Support assistance if the pain appears to be of cardiovascular origin.
• Monitor breathing for adequacy.
• Place patient in a position of comfort.
• If chest pain is still present, allow the patient to self-administer the patient's own previously prescribed Nitroglycerin, if available. One tablet may be taken provided that the patient's systolic pressure is at least 120 mm Hg.

Do NOT delay transport.

• Transport in accordance with first response agency policy.
