CSMA -- Carrier Sense Multiple Access; It picks up the phone, sees if
someone's using it and puts it down. It's polite.
CSMA/CD -- CSMA/Collision Detect; It picks up the phone and starts
talking without checking if someone's on the line. If you hear back exactly what you sent
out then there was no collision and two machines tried to talk at the same time.
Comments -- As you increase the number of lines, the more collisions
there are, and the worse it gets. You can have fewer machines with bigger demands or a
smaller amount of machines with smaller demands.
